Usdin Martinez

Usdin Martinez is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Northwestern, with a primary focus on contemporary political theory. His research interests lie at the intersection of radical democratic politics, postcolonial studies, and critical theory. His dissertation project studies how multiples ideas of time and history shape postcolonial theory. Originally from Bogota, Usdin holds Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Economics from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia) and a Master’s degree in Political Philosophy from Paris-Diderot University (France). Besides teaching and doing research, he enjoys baking the same sourdough recipe over and over, attending live-music shows and playing beach volleyball.
