CFS Alumni

Whether you just finished CFS or you participated in the program years ago, we would love to hear from you!  Did you love your CFS experience? Do you want to stay involved with CFS and make an impact on future CFS students? There are a variety of ways to stay connected to CFS and our alumni, as well as give back:

host-visit.jpgCHECK out our alumni profile series

Read our ongoing series about the impact CFS has had on the career development and success of our alumni.  Has CFS been instrumental in your career path?  Are you interested in sharing how you have navigated challenges and decisions successfully along the way?   Email us at cfs@northwestern.edu and we would love to interview you!

2009-sep-22.jpgConduct Practice Interviews

Help prepare CFS students for their interviews with employers by giving 1 to 2 hours of your time, either in-person in Evanston or over the phone or on Zoom. Practice interviewers are provided with their students’ résumés, desired fields, a list of questions, and evaluation forms. By participating in these mock interviews and providing feedback to the students, you will help them interview in more compelling and persuasive ways.  If interested, contact us at cfs@northwestern.edu.

2009-sept-22.jpgHost a Field Trip or Be a Guest Speaker

Help current students explore careers and workplace cultures by hosting a small group of students at your company or organization or by being a guest speaker in a CFS class.  Guest speakers help connect students to topics outside of the academic sphere and give them a forum to ask questions answered by someone with "real world" experience. If interested, contact us at cfs@northwestern.edu.

engaged-1.jpgServe as a Student Consultant

This is a great opportunity for current students who loved their CFS experience and want to help their fellow students benefit from CFS as well.  Student Consultants contribute ideas and opinions regarding CFS practices and initiatives, work on projects such as marketing, event-planning or other ideas based on the consultants' skills and interests and help represent CFS at student events such as Wildcat Days, CFS Orientation and other events.  If interested, contact Karen Allen at karen-allen@northwestern.edu

joining teamHire Interns

Often, the best supervisors of interns are those who were once interns themselves.  Whether you had a great internship experience or one that taught you what you would do differently, you know what it means to have a substantive internship experience.  We are always happy to connect new CFS students with alums through internships.  If you are interested in hiring an intern, please contact Karen Allen at karen-allen@northwestern.edu

travel-expenses.jpgMake a Gift to CFS

We are incredibly grateful to CFS alumni and friends who graciously give to support the CFS Program and its students.  Gifts to the program are critical for our success and help fund a variety of initiatives such as class field trips, special events, program enhancements and more. To make a gift to CFS, please visit Northwestern's Giving page and designate Chicago Field Studies as the recipient of your gift.  Thank you!
