Assistant Director

Sonia is a dedicated professional who works closely with the Associate Director of Chicago Field Studies (CFS) to provide internship and career advising to undergraduate students accepted into the CFS program. Her role involves maintaining relationships with internship employers and facilitating the placement of students in those internships. She provides valuable insights and strategies to both students and employers, ensuring the continued success of the program.

 Sonia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in English from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) and a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University (NU). With a wealth of experience in higher education, she has consistently provided students with academic and career advising support.

 Sonia believes in taking a data-driven approach to making informed policy-making decisions. Her career advising philosophy focuses on supporting students to develop a growth mindset as they work towards their professional career goals. She is committed to helping students succeed by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to successfully navigate the challenging job market.
