Sean Harvey is a PhD candidate in History at Northwestern University. He is currently working on a political and environmental history of maquiladoras, which, are export-oriented assembly factories located along the U.S.-Mexico border. He aims to enrich CFS students’ internship experience by examining environmental concerns as social, political, and cultural problems. Students should expect his class to use discussions, field trips, and other types of active learning to engage the internship experiences in new and exciting ways. He is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but currently lives in Chicago, IL with his wife, son and three cats. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and unabashedly listening to the pop-punk classics of the 1990s.
