Be a Practice Interviewer

Help prepare CFS students for their interviews with employers by giving 1 to 2 hours of your time, either in-person in Evanston or over the phone. Practice interviewers are provided with their students’ résumés, desired fields, a list of questions, and evaluation forms. By participating in these mock interviews and providing feedback to the students, you will help them interview in more compelling and persuasive ways. For more information about practice interviews, please contact us at cfs@northwestern.edu

Be a Guest Speaker

Share your knowledge and experience with our students by being a guest speaker for a CFS class or event! Guest speakers help connect students to topics outside of the academic sphere and give them a forum to ask questions answered by someone with "real world" experience. If you would like educate students by being a guest speaker please email cfs@northwestern.edu

Be on the Student Advisory Board

CFS formed the Student Advisory Board in 2011 with the goal of having greater student input in our courses, marketing, and post-CFS communication. The board is comprised of undergraduate students who have participated in one or more of the CFS concentrations.

CFS Student Advisory Board members:

  • Agree to serve on the board for one full academic year
  • Attend hour-long board meetings one or more times per quarter
  • Contribute ideas and opinions regarding CFS practices and initiatives
  • Help represent CFS at student events such as Wildcat Days and CFS Orientation
  • Work on projects  independently or on committees
  • Help plan and organize CFS events, such as the Year-End Celebration

If you are a CFS alum interested in serving on the Student Advisory Board, please contact us at cfs@northwestern.edu
